Detroit Auto Show 2022 – First Electric Muscle Car

So funny story, so I went to the Auto Show twice, at the time there was a lot of music and loud noise playing in the background when the Dodge representative revved up the frantzonic chambered exhaust! So I went the next day to get a better recording with my camera. The Dodge representative giving the presentation on the electric Charger Banshee immediately remember me, she asked me what I think of the car? I said looks sweet, sounds good, but know there can always room for an improvement with the exhaust. Then I asked her, how the responses she's been getting, she said nothing but postive. I go really? Then I said, well I've been hearing different on the internet, explained how there's a video that went viral comparing the electric Charger to a Vacuum, suggesting a lot of muscle car enthusiasts aren't too happy. She seemed surprise... Afterwards we chatted for a bit, then she said well here I go, I'm about to give my presentation...

Anyways, I shared the video to a few muscle car facebook groups, there definitely seem to be some kickback. I mean this is a good thing, there's always for room for improvement, and as long as Dodge is listening... I think the problem with a lot of short lived muscle cars failures, is some of the higher ups, just go with what they think is going to become popular, which is what they think, and not what what the public thinks. The failure of the Pontiac GTO and Bob Lutz comes to mind, taking a Holden Monaro and slapping GTO badge on a car, which the original GTO was basically the first to start off the muscle car market and what we know it today.

Sometimes ya gotta take a car for a spin, before being so judgemental... I've heard the new Teslas are blazing fast, fast = rush! "I had no idea, I had no idea, I wish my Daddy he were alive to see this." I too, wish Carroll Shelby was alive to see the first electric muscle car.

But if you look back on history, we've run into previous circumstances where workers and car enthusiasts were unhappy. For instance back in the 80s when the Federal government raised emissions standards and for a short period of time the muscle car era kind of went dead... That's until the Grand National was released and became a cult classic... Even though it had a V6 and the sound coming from the exhaust wasn't what gear heads wanted to hear, there wasn't much of a rumble or deep note, more of a high pitched sound like heard from the electic Charger, even though I think many muscle car fans were unhappy, with time this turbo charged V6 grew on them. Especially since it ended up beating a Ferrari if you watch the documentary Black Air.

And it's not even that the V6 didn't sound good, there's many other examples of where a V10 muscle car didn't sound good either, such as the Dodge Viper. YouTube Channel Four Eyes - "At idle, these cars don't sound too much different than a vacuum cleaner." Some YouTube car enthusiasts are still finding ways of modifying this legendary car to sound a lot better...

But it makes me wonder, if with time, that these aftermarket manufacturers, even someone like Shelby American could modify the frantzonic chambered exhaust to give it a more deep sounding note that rumbles, instead of being so high pitched. I wonder if they could also do something unique, like a frantzonic chambered side pipe exhaust, lol, that also doesn't burn your calf muscle getting out of the car.

We're going to be making a huge transition, we're in it now... Some are unhappy about it, whether it's the sport of fishing with something like the Garmin livescope turning fishing into sort of a video game, even the work force becoming more automated as machines take more jobs away, but as I explained in this article on electric motors, one of the things I'll never miss is filling my boat up at the gas dock, along with smelling the fumes of diesel yachts driving passed me on the water. I have motion sickness, so when I smell these fumes, it kicks up the imbalance of my body then doesn't allow me to enjoy the sport of musky fishing, sucks, but it is what it is. So when something like the Tarqeedo could solve some of these issues, man I'm all for it. Especially since I won't have to pay the high priced fees of gas on the water, I'll be able to charge my fishing boat right from my own dock.

But the question is, as nuclear war is quite imminent between Russia and China, something like this hasn't reached heights since the cold war, as Michio Kaku puts it, will we be able to make it to stage 1 civilzation without killing ourselves!? "Every time I open the newspaper, I can now see the birth of a Type 1 Civilization, but it's dangerous, because we now have hypersonic nuclear weapons, we have the ability to create designer germs, have the ability to alter the weather."

It's obvious we have the technology, but we seem to lack the will to change.

I'll say this, while everyone is unhappy about going from the Great V8 to electric for the American Muscle Car, but what if it's short lived, what if we have something better within a few years and the electric motor is short lived? The old saying, as technology progresses, the transitions get shorter and shorter... The electric car era may be super short... Something like Michigander Bob Lazar's hydrogen Corvette may be next in line very quickly! ????

I gotta admit too, I'm still stuck in the past with old video games like Bad Company 2, soon as Call of Duty switched to jet packs, I stopped playing. I'm even disappointed with the movie industry, but as Damon explained, technology has also changed that. I'm burned out from super hero movies and we're seeing less of movies like Christine, Death Proof, Phantasm, and Disturbing behavior, movies teenagers could relate to back then and learn from, now I think super hero movies have monopolized the market. Top Gun coming out was a Godsend... Hell I'm thinking of even picking up an modded arcade1up cabinet or Legends Ultimate, which technology is starting to make these old school games multiplayer. I'm so pissed that Bad Company 2 died out, had a youtube channel and fan follow with over 1k+ subs... I know there's still a fan following on Steam, but I'm not huge into PC gaming, more like console with controller, can't stand the mouse and keyboard. I still don't even use a fish finder, I still use my intuition to track down the fish 10,000 casts, to say I'm still stuck in my ways, yes I am.

Also I'd like to say, while we transition from V8 to electric, we must still be able to celebrate our history of the V8 and old muscle car, not go overboard with banning things. I've already made my investment, invested into one of, I think is one of the most badded muscle cars I've seen in modern day history, the Challenger Hellcat. I had friends at work told me, that's stupid, people are getting robbed at gun point for things, it's a car they'll kill you for. They don't realize these cars mean much more to us, to me the Hellcat means freedom, something my Grandpa fought for in World War 2!
